My name is Penny and I am a Brownie leader in New Zealand.  I have been a Brownie Leader on and off for many years.  I left Guides and became a Junior leader in a Brownie unit, when I came of age I was handed my warrant and the main leader quit – so there I was 18 and in sole charge of the Brownie Group, I loved every moment of it.  After that I have moved around a wee bit, and life got in the way so took a break here and there, but it is something I always seem to come back to and get a lot out of.

In New Zealand Brownies are girls aged between 7 – 9.5.  In our group we have 2 leaders and about 18 girls.

New Zealand launched a new Brownie program in the middle of 2014 and it has leaders and girls excited for the new badges and activities to be completed.

The idea of this blog is for me to share our weekly meetings, providing links for resources I have found, some I have taken from other guiding blogs and adjusted to suit New Zealand. I would love this to become an idea sharing area – where others leave comments with ideas, resources or information about their meetings that I can take away also.
